This high-quality portfolio, titled "Hiroshige Meiga-sen", is a curated selection of masterpieces by the legendary ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Hiroshige. The set was published during the mid-Shōwa period (specifically documented in associated receipts as 1969) by the International Cultural Correspondence Co. (Kokusai Bunka Tsūshinsha). Unlike mass-produced modern lithographs, these prints are re-cut woodblocks (Gendai Hanga), handmade using traditional techniques: hand-carved cherry wood blocks and hand- rubbed pigments on Washi paper. This method preserves the vibrant colors, deep "bokashi" (color graduation), and the tactile embossed quality of the original Edo-period masterpieces.
